Courtney and Justin live in Ohio and were down here visiting some friends. We met up to get some pictures of their adorable 7 month old daughter. Jaelynn was a natural in front of the camera. And check out those baby rolls! Aren't they awesome?
I met up with Erica, Dan, their cutie pie Maltese and Erica's aunt at the Juno Beach Pier on a cold South Florida day. And by cold I mean about 70 degrees. You gotta love winter in South Florida. Although I have to admit I miss the snow and the real cold this time of year. Christmas without snow is still so odd to me. Erica and Dan totally rocked it in front of the camera, even though they insisted they weren't photogenic. Umm, hello, check out the hotness below! I think my camera was in love with their love and the light; what a great afternoon. And Erica's aunt was too cool helping out with their doggy and she had some great posing ideas too. I may have to have her come along on all my sessions!
Can you say favorite?
I think headshots should be fun and full of personality! Really, who can get excited about someone sitting in front of a studio background giving the camera their best serious "business look"? Nothing memorable about that. Beka is fun, fabulous, stylish and beautiful. We had way too much fun doing these. If you want some fun, creative headshots of your own, get in touch and let's set something up.
In July I had the pleasure of attending the Grand Opening Party at Fred Astaire Jupiter's brand new dance studio. The new studio is much larger with high ceilings and beautiful windows. It was a great event where the pro teachers at the studio put on a mini-show to demonstrate the classic ballroom and latin dances. The highlight of the night was the attendance of Dancing with the Stars' Tony Dovolani. Tony shared some of his experiences on the show and then taught the group how to "move their hips". It was quite the treat and Tony is the ultimate gentleman. If possible, he's even nicer in person than he seems on the show. If you've ever wanted to learn how to dance the Tango, the Samba, the Waltz, or any of the other ballroom & latin dances, there's no better place in South Florida, than Fred Astaire Jupiter. And you never know, you might just run into Tony Dovolani, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, or Corky Balass. They've all been known to drop in and teach a lesson or two. My good friends Warren & Babette, who own the studio, are also opening one in Boynton Beach, so if you're a little further south, that will soon be the place to go.
And don't forget, they offer a Wedding Package, so you can look like a pro during your first dance as husband and wife!
First blog post - finally! We started the day off with brunch at our friends' house feasting on a whole variety of seafood and then had dinner with grandpa at a local restaurant on the beach. It was wonderful and relaxing. At brunch we had amazing eggs benedict, raw oysters from New Orleans, yellowtail snappers from the Bahamas baked in a crust of salt, stone crabs from Chokoloskee (west coast of Florida) with the yummy mustard dipping sauce, and shrimp cooked in some kind of wonderful butter sauce. Thanks John and Steph for having us over! Everything was delicious.
